About
  Sara

A bazillion different experiences have inspired and informed who Sara is, the services that she provides, how she does business, and why she’s so tenacious about helping people realize their most optimized life and sense of Self.

You can take the girl out of Kansas, but you can’t take the Kansas out of the girl. Sara was born and raised in Topeka (her slight twang is still as apparent as her kindness-based Midwest values). She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Kansas.

She eventually returned to her love for psychology, opting to further her education with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology.

In 2013, Sara opened Red Rocks Counseling - a Denver-based, trauma-informed, non-pathologizing private psychotherapy practice. Word spread quickly that she was an impactful change creator with a big heart and spunky personality, solidifying her as a leader in the field of mental health in Colorado.

In 2020, she expanded Red Rocks Counseling into a group practice and launched the CuriosiFy Podcast. Sara’s first book, More YourSELF, was published in fall 2022.

No stranger to being in front of an audience, Sara trained in dance for the first 30 years of her life. She was selected as performer at the University of Kansas and later danced professionally for the NBA (Denver Nuggets) and the NFL (Denver Broncos).

The first decade of Sara’s career trajectory was spent developing a business acumen and strong interpersonal connections, elevating her to top ranks as a Senior Sales Executive in the Colorado sports marketing industry and a Sales Project Manager for an international non-profit scientific and educational society.

She began public and corporate speaking and facilitating retreats and workshops across the country in 2017. Sara speaks on topics of general and parts-based psychological wellness, burnout, change and transition, interpersonal communication and connection, authenticity, and the power of curiosity.

Nowadays, Sara has transitioned away from trauma-based clinical work and focuses instead of personal and professional coaching and consulting. She continues to impact organizations and audiences through speaking and workshop facilitation.

Sara’s commitment to her own thriving livelihood is exemplified in her fervent and unapologetic pursuits of joy, purpose, and connection. Glimmers of those quests can be observed through her passion for life, audacious personality, and the close bonds she has with her kids, husband, and community of friends, family, and clients.

In her free time, Sara can be found playing outdoors and exploring the mountains of Colorado with her family, noodle dancing to live music, or with her nose stuck in a book… and she still takes dance classes with her fellow NBA and NFL alumni girlfriends.
